Selena Gomez recently confirmed she’s dating music producer Benny Blanco, after keeping it on the down low for six months. The new celebrity couple worked closely together on Selena Gomez‘s latest single, Single Soon. However, they’ve known each other for almost a decade as he also worked on the Disney alum’s 2015 single, Same Old Love. Here’s where body language experts would say the relationship stands now.
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s body language explored
Earlier this week, the Lose You To Love Me singer posted a picture on social media of herself and Benny. Although his face wasn’t visible, his distinct curly hair could be seen.
In the black and white pic, Selena had a huge smile on her face, with her hand around her boyfriend, whose head looked to be buried into her.
When the relationship was announced, a picture was shared of Selena lying on her new partner’s chest, again with his face covered.
“Laying your head on your partner’s shoulder or chest is a sweet gesture,” body language expert Terri Orbuch tells Women’s Health.
“By doing this, you’re saying ‘I feel close to you, I trust you, I want to be close to you,’ she continues. The expert then says that leaning towards one another, in general, is a “positive sign”.
She says it means both parties are interested in each other and want to be even closer, and intimate.
The star wishes Taylor a happy birthday
Although she’s loved up, Selena isn’t leaving her friends behind, as she recently celebrated bestie Taylor Swift‘s big day.
The two looked chic as they stepped out for dinner in New York, and the 31-year-old also took to her Instagram to wish her bestie a happy 34th birthday.
Taking to her story on the platform, Selena posted a mirror selfie of the two hanging out over the weekend. Taylor can be seen kissing Gomez’s cheek, whilst holding her phone up to take the pic.
In the caption, the 31-year-old penned: “Happy Birthday to the Goddess that is @TaylorSwift. I love you.”
