Hailey Bieber was channeling Katie Holmes' legendary cashmere bra and cardigan moment as she went shopping with Kendall Jenner in LA.
A quick recap: Hollywood actress Holmes was pictured hailing a taxi in New York wearing an understatedly chic, yet comfortable, outfit, a matching beige cashmere bralette-and-cardigan combo from Khaite that swiftly sold out within an hour – and went on to become one of the most-searched for pieces of clothing of 2019.

Pairing her cashmere with staple jeans and oversized sunglasses, it was the perfect example of transitional dressing from summer into autumn, with her cardigan worn off one shoulder to allow a glimpse of the co-ordinating bra.
A year later, and Bieber was wearing a similar combination - just without the buttons. The model's version was Jacquemus in a golden wheat colour, teamed with a cropped cardigan that was open to reveal the minimalist cashmere bra.

She also wore high-waisted jeans, a braided brown belt, and square-toe orange kitten heel sandals. Meanwhile, reality TV star and fellow model Kendall sported a white tank top, and high-waisted, wide-leg jeans.

Credit: Moda OperandiHolmes' look quickly became a social media hit, with many sharing on their Instagram and tweeting about her outfit, while searches for brand increased by 217 per cent after she was seen wearing it and the bra is still Khaite's most viewed item ever – and it has, of course, led to countless high-street takes on the trend.

The star did it again last month, looking effortlessly chic and transitional-appropriate after shopping in Khaite's knitwear section once again, this time choosing a strapless white knitted top, which she paired with loose-fitting jeans and white trainers.
